Happy Thanksgiving Dolls!

I hope everyone is having a happy and safe Thanksgiving.

Part of celebrating Thanksgiving is getting ready for Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping.

A lot of Black Friday sales have started early.

Ulta has their's already up online.

Two items that they have up that I have been waiting for are by Lorac.

They are the Lorac Love, Lust, and Lace Matte and Shimmer Palettes.

They are $12 and are exclusive to Ulta.

Are these on your Black Friday shopping list?

First Target Beauty Box for October - L'Oreal

The month of October had two Target Beauty Boxes.

The first one contained all L'Oreal products.

It had two deluxe sized products, one full sized product, two sample cards, and two test cards.

This box also contained the standard $5 off coupon on a purchase of $20 or more on L'Oreal products, which has since expired (oops).

First up is the L'Oreal Total Repair 5 Restoring Shampoo.

I really liked this and have actually already used one (I purchased two beauty boxes).

It leaves hair soft.

There was a L'Oreal Elnett Satin Hairspray.

I am not a big hairspray user so I actually gave this one away.

Also in the box was a L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara.

This was my first time trying this mascara and I actually like it but for some reason the one I got gets too much product on the wand and I constantly have to wipe off the wand.

It does add volume to lashes.

Next up are the samples of the L'Oreal Smooth Intense Ultimate Straight Straightening Shampoo, Pre-Conditioner, and Conditioner.

I am excited to try this as I liked the other L'Oreal shampoo that was in the box.

These are great for travel.

Another sample that was in the box is the L'Oreal Revitalift Volume Filler.

It comes with a serum and cream that claims to boost skin's resiliency.

Inside the box was also L'Oreal Paris True Match Shade Strips that you can apply directly to your face in order to help you in picking our your exact shade match foundation.

Lastly, there is a test strip to let you know if your skin may be in need of a cell renewal boost.

If it does, L'Oreal has a product for that called the Age Perfect Cell Renewal Cream.

I love these Target Beauty Boxes.

They range in price from $5 - $10 and allow you to try out different products to help you determine if you want to buy full sizes.

This L'Oreal Box from October was only $5, but is no longer available.

If you like any of these products or are curious to try them you can purchase the full sized products at Target or anywhere else that sells L'Oreal products.

The Target Beauty Boxes sell out quickly so if you see it and want one you have to act quick.

There hasn't yet been one in November, which may be due to the fact that there was two in October.

Ipsy Glam Bag for October

Once again I seem to have a hard time keeping up with the posting of Ipsy Glam Bags.

Here is October's.

The theme for October was Alter Ego.

It came in a dual sided bag, one side is black and the other side is gold also representing two sides or an Alter Ego if you will.

My bag came with an Aurora Gel Effect Nail Polish in Inky Dinky.

I have to admit I was excited to try this being that it is a gel nail polish.

I have to admit though, I am not a huge fan of this polish.

It started chipping right away so I won't be purchasing this one.

Next up, which is probably the best item in the bag,  I got a Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Committed.

I haven't yet used it, but I love the color and am excited to try it out.

Next up is nothing too exciting.

I got a BWC fragrance free handy and body lotion that I can add to all of my other lotions that I get.

I like these for travel or to just throw into my purse when I need a lotion.

I also got a Nourish Organic Argan Face Serum which basically seems like a moisturizer.

I can never have too many of these.

It sounds like it smells amazing.

This will also be great for travel or when I run out of my regular moisturizer.

Last up, are these cute pink tweezers which I was also excited about, but I feel like they kind of let me down.

I feel like they don't really grab hair that well.

Overall the October bag was ok.

It was nothing too exciting.

Tarte Light of the Party Collector's Makeup Case - Swatches

There are so many holiday sets and palettes out right now.

Pretty much so many that it is hard to keep up.

I have had the tarte Light of the Party Set for some time now and honestly I thought that I had already posted the swatches of it.

I found out today that it was sitting in my drafts, but have no fear because here it is and it is still available for purchase at Sephora.

The Light of the Party Set comes with a small palette, a large palette, a mini double sided brush, and a Deluxe Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara.

First up is the smaller palette.

It comes with a bronzer in Social Butterfly and a blush in Amazed as well as a highlighter in Pink Champagne.

There are 6 eyeshadows in the shades Popcorn Strand, Wrapped Up, Dancer & Prancer, Shining Star, Yule Be Surprised, and Mulberry & Bright.

All swatches were done on my bare arm without any primer.

Swatches from left to right in natural lighting - Social Butterly, Amazed, Pink Champagne, Popcorn Strand, Dancer & Prancer, Yule Be Surprised, Wrapped Up, Shining Star, and Mulberry & Bright.

Same swatches, different angle

One last set of swatches for the heck of it!

Moving on to the big palette...

Here is the makeup case that the palettes come in.

I am not to thrilled with the sequin design.

I think it would have been okay with the sequins, but maybe a holiday design.

A close up of the bigger palette, which by the way is glued to the bottom of the box ( I popped mine out).

All swatches of the bigger palette are also done in natural lighting.

1st row from left to right - Sugar Cookie, In A Flurry, Fizz The Season, It's Snow Time, Eggnog,, and What A Wonderful Pearl.

Same swatches, different angle.

As you can tell all of the shades with the exception of Fizz The Season are very light base, brow bone, or blending shades.

Same swatches with flash

2nd row left to right - Miracle Of Light, Rum Pum Plum, Tartetini, Baby It's Gold Outside, Peach On Earth, and Come What Grey.

Same swatches, different angle

These shades are darker than the first row and have more of a range in color.

Same swatches with flash

3rd row from left to right - Under The Mistle-Taupe, Ring-A-Ling, Fireside Chat, Party Favored, Gingerbread Mansion, and Chrome For The Holidays.

Same swatches, different angle

The 3rd row is darker than the previous row and is more reddish toned.

Same swatches with flash

The 4th and final row from left to right - Sleigh Watch, Mulled Wine, Cocoa What Fun, Black Velvet, Haute Chocolate, and Midnight Kiss.

Same swatches, different angle

The final row is contains the darkest shades, all of which are matte.

Swatches with flash

The smaller palette is great for travel and is a one stop shop with a bronzer, blush, highlighter, and eyeshadows.

The bigger palette has 24 shades to choose from.

The first row being the lightest shades and the last row the darkest.

Each palette comes with a mix of shimmer and matte shades.

All of the eyeshadow shades are named after words associated with the holidays.

I found that the shimmer shades were more pigmented than the mattes.

My favorite rows in the palette are the 2nd and the 3rd.

The makeup case can be used to store other items once the palette is gone.

The tarte Light of the Party set is only available at Sephora for the holidays and is $59.

Elf Haul

Recent I hauled some items from e.l.f. that I have been wanting to try.

When the Illuminating Palette was released I knew it was time to place an order.

I picked up the very popular Contour Palette as well as the Illuminating Palette.

I also grabbed one of the new Tinted Lip Balms in Bare Kiss, a Baked Eyeshadow Trio in Peach Please and an Illuminating Mist & Set.

What have you hauled from e.l.f. lately?

Have you tried any of these e.l.f. items? Thoughts?

ColourPop Creme Gel Colour Eyeliner Review and Swatches

Good cream/gel liners can be hard to find, so I was a little hesitant when I heard that ColourPop was releasing their own line of them.

Don't get my wrong I love everything that ColourPop makes and I am a huge  Colourpop addict.

I just thought how good can they be?

How much will they cost?

Will they last?

Can I use them on my waterline?

Spoiler alert: They are awesome!

My go to creme or gel liners are by L'Oreal, Maybelline, and MAC.

In my opinion, ColourPop's Creme Gel Liners blow all of these out of the water especially for the price. There is no competition.

I picked up 6 of the now 30 that are available (3 more have been added from the individual items in the holiday collection). There are another three more that are only available as part of the Fauncy Holiday Set.

I picked up Exit, Kicker, Zulu, Dirty Talk, Over Board, and Get Paid.

Here they are swatched from left to right in the same order as listed above.

Let's be honest, how gorgeous are these?

These are swatched on my bare arm with two swipes.

Pictured below with flash

I have been using these nonstop since I purchased them.

Overboard was my daily eyeliner shade until I recently picked up Stomper (not pictured).

My verdict, true love.

  1. Amazingly pigmented
  2. Long lasting, last all day
  3. Glide on easily
  4. Set nicely and quickly
  5. Available in 30 shades ranging from neutrals to pops of color
  6. Available in both matte and shimmer shades
  7. Highly affordable at $6
  8. Can be used on the waterline
  9. Last on the waterline
The only problem is determining which colors to buy.

I couldn't really find a con with the ColourPop Gel Creme Liners. If I had to pick something I would say that they are very creamy so be careful when picking up product otherwise you can drop product on your face. When you try to remove it you really have to scrub to remove it.
