Clinique Kisses - Matte Lipstick Set Review and Swatches

The Clinique Kisses Matte Lipstick Set has to have some of the cutest packaging ever.

If these lipsticks had cheeks I would pinch them.

That is how adorably cute the packaging is on these lipsticks.

Didn't I tell you?

We are talking babies and puppy dogs cute.

The Clinque Kisses Matte Lipstick set is of course by Clinique.

It is a Macy's exclusive set and it comes with 5 matte lipsticks for $25.

That is $5 a lipstick.

That's a great deal considering it also comes with this lip packaging.

Each lipstick has 3 sides, which are below.

They say Kiss n Tell, Mwaw, Pucker Up, and Love.

These would also have been a great set for Valentine's Day just like the Stila holiday collection.

These lipsticks scream love literally, it is written on the tubes.

Below are what the lippies look like.

Heaven in a tube.

A closer look at them without the box in the background.

The shades are from left to right - Matte Petal, Matte Crimson, Matte Beauty, Matte Magenta, and Matte Plum.

The box that they come in has a description of what type of person each lipstick is for (though this really doesn't mean anything it is just a cute way to add to the appeal of these lipsticks).

The Sweet Talker - Matte Petal

The Good Kisser - Matte Crimson

The Hug & Kisser - Matte Beauty

The Life of The Party - Matte Magenta

The Pretty Pouter - Matte Plum

Swatched from left to right - Matte Petal, Matte Crimson, Matte Beauty, Matte Magenta, and Matte Plum.

Each swatch was done on my bare arm with about three swipes.

Review Time:

  1. The packaging, packaging, packaging is adorable.
  2. Very pretty colors
  3. They can be applied lightly for a more sheer look or built up for a more intense look.
  4. Glide on the lips.
  5. Feel soft on the lips.
  6. When applied on the lips they feel very light (almost like you aren't wearing anything at all)
  7. They seem to have decent lasting power
  8. They are very affordable at $25 for the set ($5 a tube)
  9. When I applied them onto my bare lips I noticed some product settling into the lines of my lips (hopefully this will be avoided by moisturizing the lips ahead of time and using a lip primer.
  10. They don't have a noticeable scent which I guess is a good thing.
  11. Packaging, packaging, packaging... (I had to end with this).
I'll admit I bought this based on the packaging alone and not having seen the lipstick shades themselves.

I have never used a Clinique lipstick and figured what better way than to try this set.

Even if I hated the shades I would have kept these on display on makeup vanity.

They are too darn cute!

They are still available at Macy's and can be purchased online.

If you plan on purchasing it online, don't forget to go through Ebates first prior to purchasing.

Below is my referral link to Ebates (currently 3% cash back for Macy's for any of you who are interested in signing up.

First time Ebates users will earn a $10 cash back bonus when they make purchases totaling at least $25 within 90 days of signing up.

Who doesn't love earn free money that can then be used for buying more makeup?

It's genius really.

Below is the link to the set if you already have an Ebates account.

Would you get the Clinique Kisses Matte Lipstick Set just because of the packaging? Have you ever purchased products on packaging alone?
