e.l.f. Smudge Pots - First Look and First Impression

I purchased the e.l.f. Smudge Pots about a month ago and still haven't really gotten around to testing them out. This is a first look and my first impression.

I picked up all 9 shades. I can say that upon first glance that the packaging is sturdy and the colors are very pretty. The concept behind the smudge pots is that they are similar to Maybelline Color Tattoos or MAC Paint Pots in that they can be used as cream eyeshadows or eyeshadow bases. Smudge pots can also be used as cream eyeliners.

I used Ain't that Sweet recently which is the light pink one. Application was similar to any other cream products. They apply smoothly but have to be built up for intensity. I did feel though like they don't apply evenly. You have to put more work into them, The color payoff is decent. I do feel that they are more greasy than Color Tattoos or Paint Pots and that they don't really set the way the others do.

Overall I would say that they are pretty to look at, can be used as bases for more of a natural look, are affordable, but not as good compared to Color Tattoos or Paint Pots.

I would recommended passing on these and spending a couple more dollars for the Color Tattoos.
