NYX Macaron Lippies

Macaron Lippies, Yes Please!

I ordered 6 of the new Macaron Lippies from NYX. They come in a variety of colors, are $6 each, and have a Satin Matte finish.

I have tried a few of them so far and I like them. When wearing them I have to apply a lip balm and a lip primer so that my lips don't like dry once they are applied.

Below from left to right are the ones that I ordered.

Orange Blossom

Have you tried the Macaron Lippies from NYX yet? Which are your favs? I like Pistachio and Lavender.

Best of Sephora Collection

Whose doesn't love earning points?

What's better than earning points? Well spending them of course!

On one of my many trips to Sephora, they had a Best of Sephora Collection for 500 points. What sold me most was the gold glitter eyeshadow. It was so sparkly and pretty. In addition, I have never used a Sephora mascara or eyeliner so I redeemed the points and called this baby mine.

The Best of Sephora Collection comes with the following items:

-Mini Outrageous Volume Mascara in Ultra Black

-Deluxe Age Defy Moisture Cream SPF 15 Sunscreen

-Deluxe Colorful Eyeshadow, Hollywood's Calling N 82, Mirror Effect

-Mini Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover

-Deluxe Contour Waterproof Eye Pencil 12 HR Wear, Black Lace Matte

I have been curious to try other Sephora brand products as I have only tried the eyeshadows and the Formula X polishes. So far I haven't been disappointed with Sephora products. I have tried the sunscreen so far and it worked great. I am looking forward to trying all of these products.

I checked Sephora's website and this is no longer available as the rewards change all of the time. Were you able to get this one? Thoughts?

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit & Sephora Formula X VIB Rouge - 1st Look

I finally gave in to the hype and picked up the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit online at Sephora.

I bought it the first day that it was released and I think it sold out that same day.

I have used it once to kind of experiment and I can honestly say that I can see what all of the hype is about.

The Contour Kit is awesome. The colors are so natural and pigmented. I am new to contouring and thought this would be a great way to learn based on all of the hype around it.

The Contour Kit contains 6 shades. The top row is for highlighting and the bottom row is for contouring.

Making this purchase enable me to retain my VIB Rouge statuses through 2015. For doing that I received the Sephora Formula X VIB Rouge nail polish in the shade X<3 Rouge. It is a custom shade made for VIB Rouge members. It promises ultimate shine, long wear, and high pigmentation. I have other Sephora Formula X nail polishes and I love them.

Do you have either of these products? Thoughts?

MAC Playland Swatches

I can't believe I finally was able to get all of the items that I wanted from the MAC Playland Collection.

It seemed liked it was never going to happen.

To make a long aggravating story short, I ordered from Macy's online and ended up having my order canceled and was unable to get the items again.

I ordered from MAC but could only get the yellow items pictured below. These are the Ever So Yellow pigment, Bright Side Lip Glass, and Playland Lipstick.

Here are the swatches. From left to right - Ever So Yellow, Bright Side, and Playland.

Then when all hope was lost that I would be able to get the others items I wanted, which were the Sweet Experience and Toying Around Lipsticks, I was informed of a store called Belk. I was told that they had all of the lipsticks in stock. Belk isn't a local store to me and I had never heard of it, but hopeful, I went on their website and sure enough they had them. There was no sales tax and free shipping so I pressed the order button.

They came in the mail yesterday and here they are pictured below.

Swatches of the Playland Lipsticks from left to right - Sweet Experience, Toying Around, and Playland.

I like them all, but I would have to say that Sweet Experience is my favorite. Which is yours?

MAC Playland Collection

I am so late on doing a post for the MAC Playland Collection.

I have been so busy just trying to get the items that I wanted from the collection that I guess I got preoccupied.

I am sure by this most of you have heard about the collection or gotten the items that you wanted.

I recently started getting into MAC and don't own that many MAC items yet. When I saw the marketing pieces for Playland I was instantly drawn in. The colors are gorgeous and the ad campaigns really make you wanna play.

The MAC Playland Collection has 6 lipsticks, which are Playland, Sweet Experience, Happy-Go-Lucky, Toying Around, Red Balloon, and Head in the Clouds.

Currently only Head in the Clouds is available online at

There are 5 Lip Glasses in Bright Side, Lots of Laughs, Carousel, Live it Up, and Pure Silliness.

All are still available online except for Bright Side.

Also in the collection there are 4 pigments, which are Ever So Yellow, High-Def Cyan, Neo-Orange, and Golden Olive.

All are still available online.

There are also 4 Chromographic Pencils (Genuine Orange is sold out online) and 3 Casual Colours. These are pictured below.

I picked up a couple of the items, which I will show in another post. Were you able to get the items you wanted?

The MAC Playland is sold at Nordstrom and Macy's but a lot of the items are sold out. I found out about a store called Belk, which isn't local to me, but they sell MAC. I was able to buy some items from them online that were sold out everywhere else. They still have 4 of the 6 lipsticks in stock with the exception of Playland and Toying Around. Below is their link:

MAC also has the two wallpapers that were created for the app Line Play. They are so cute and fun and  can be used to decorate your background on your phone or computer.

Are you ready to play?

Urban Decay Anarchy Face Case - 1st Look

I picked up this palette some time last year while shopping at Sephora.

Sadly it was before it went on sale for $29.

The Anarchy Face Case comes with 5 eyeshadows, which are one matte, one shimmer, and 3 chunky glitters.

All of the shades are gorgeous and can be used to create some pretty looks.

The only thing to watch out for is that the chunky glitter shades tend to have a lot of fallout so you have to be very careful when applying them.

The Anarchy Face Case also comes with a travel sized Perversion liner and a full sized Super Saturated Lip Color in Scandal.

The bottom layer of the Anarchy Face Case comes with two blushes and a highlighter. Or it could be a bronzer, blush, and a highlighter depending on your skin tone.

The packaging is sturdy and comes with a decent sized mirror.

I love palettes or sets that come with so many items. They are easy to take along for travel in that you have so many different items in one convenient place.

Do you have the Anarchy Face Case from Urban Decay? Thoughts?

Coastal Scents 252 Ultimate Eyeshadow Palette - Day 3

The is day 3 using the 252 Ultimate Eyeshadow Palette from Coastal Scents.

For this look I used three pink shades ranging from light to dark though it is kind of hard to tell in the pictures.

I blended them together starting with the lightest shade on the 1st third of the lid and ending with the darkest shade in the outer part of the lid.

I lined the top lid and under the eye with two different brown liners and applied mascara.

Have you created looks with this palette? It is a great palette that contains so many different shades and finishes of shadows that allow you to create many different looks.

Urban Decay Electric Palette - Eyes of the Day

From the makeup mess pictured below you can probably guess what type of look I created.

I have had my Urban Decay Electric Palette for well over a week and have been neglecting to use it. I finally could put it off no longer.

I decided to create a look with 5 of the "eye safe" colors in the palette. I am with a lot of other beauty addicts out there that don't necessarily have problems using all of the pigments on their eyes. I say when it comes to deciding if you should use all of the pigments on your eyes, well only you know how your body will react. For example, if you know you have sensitive skin you may want to steer clear of using some of the pigments on your eyes.

I always recommend using a good primer and an eye base under the shadows. With all of that said let's get to the look.

Pictured below are most if not all of the products used on my eyes to create this look.

First, I primed my eyes with a concealer and used NYX's Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk as my eyeshadow base.

Next I used Urban Decay's Naked Basics Palette and applied Venus to my brow bone and W.O.S. To my crease and up to my brow bone as a transition color.

I then took my Urban Decay Electric Palette and applied Revolt to my inner corner.

I applied Thrash to the first third of my lid, Freak to the middle of my lid, and Fringe to my outer corner. I then blended each of them together. I also took more W.O.S. and used it to help me blend out the shadows.

Next I lined my top lid with e.l.f.'s black cream liner and went over it with an Urban Decay black liquid liner.

I lined under my eye using NYX's Jumbo Eye Pencil in Electric Blue. I then placed Gonzo over it.

I lined my waterline with NYX's Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk.

I curled my lashes and applied the Smashbox Full Exposure mascara to my top and bottom lashes.

And there you have it, a wearable, safe eye look using the Urban Decay Electric Palette. I found that the Electric Palette can be toned down my blending the shadows or can be built up by packing on the color. Just because it is a neon palette doesn't mean that the shadows can not be wearable.

Have you picked up the Electric Palette yet? Thoughts?

Coastal Scents 252 Ultimate Eyeshadow Palette - Day 2

This is Day 2 using the Coastal Scents 252 Ultimate Eyeshadow Palette.

For this look I was inspired by the colors in the scarf that I was wearing in the picture below.

I used three colors for this look, a white shimmer, dark pink shimmer, and a maroon shimmer.

I applied the white shimmer to the 1st third of the lid, the dark pink shimmer to the middle of the lid, and the maroon shimmer to the outer v. I blended them together, but from the looks of the picture now I probably could have blended some more.

I lined under the eyes with a bronze liner and patted a bronze shimmer on top of it to set the color.

I lined the top lid with a brown liner and applied mascara.

These colors go well together and would definitely work nicely as a night makeup look.

Coastal Scents - 252 Ultimate Eyeshadow Palette - Day 1

This is an old Spring look that I created using the Coastal Scents 252 Ultimate Eyeshadow Palette that I forgot to post.

I created three looks using this palette and this is the first one.

For this look I used two shimmer shades, a mint green and a yellow.

I applied each to a half of the lid and blended them together.

I applied my bottom and top brown liner and mascara.

Do you have the 252 Ultimate Eyeshadow Palette from Coastal Scents?

Kat Von D Monarch Palette - Eyes of the Day

Once I received the Kat Von D Monarch Palette I was dying to create a look with it. To say that this palette is gorgeous is a complete understatement.

To create this look:

I first primed my lids with UDPP and used MAC's Painterly Paint Pot as a base.

Next I took the first shade along the top of the palette (eggnog matte) and applied it to my brow bone.

Then I applied the light taupe matte ( 6th shade in the palette) all over my lid up to my brow bone.

I took the burnt orange (1st shade in the palette) and applied it to my crease and blended.

Next I applied the brown with gold shimmer (2nd shade in the palette) to the outer corner of my lid and blended.

Lastly I patted the champagne shimmer ( 4th shade in the palette) to my lid.

I lined under my eye with the same burnt orange shade I used above.

I did my typical lining of my upper lash lid with a brown gel liner, curled my lashes, and applied mascara.

The colors in this palette are phenomenal and I can't wait to create more looks with this palette. The shadows are insanely pigmented and blend like a dream.

Walgreens Haul - Maybelline Dare to go Nude Collection

At my local Walgreens recently they finally had all of the Maybelline Dare to Go Nude Collection.

I had already ordered all of the Myabelline Color Tattoos since I am impatient.

I decided to pick up a couple other items from the collection.

I picked up the Master Highlight Highlighting Blush in Natural. It is very pretty and gives you a subtle, natural glow with shimmer.

I also picked up a limited edition Master Glaze in Barely Pink. It is a very pretty light pink that gives you a nice natural blush.

The last item I picked up was the limited edition Sensational Lipstick in Barely Bronze. It is a pretty bronze nude lipstick with shimmer.

I wish I could have gotten the whole collection as it really is gorgeous and natural, but it can get sort of costly.

What items do you have from the Dare to Go Nude Collection?

Another Easter Look

I created a 2nd look for Easter.

For this look I used the BH Party Girl Palette by BH Cosmetics.

I primed my lids using Urban Decay Primer Potion and I applied Maybelline's Color Tattoo in Icy Mint to my lids.

I used the Naked Basics Palette by Urban Decay and patted Venus to my brow bone and W.O.S. all over my lid up to my brow bone,

I blended a bubble gum pink matte (3rd row, 4th color) into the crease.

Next I blended in a pinkish purple (2nd row, 6th color) into the crease below the pink as to not cover up all of the pink. I also applied this color under my eyes.

I then applied a matte mint green (4th row, 3rd color) all over the lid.

I applied Stila's Smudge Stick in Mint Julep to my waterline.

Lastly I lined my top lid with a brown gel liner by L'Oreal, curled my lashes and applied Too Faced's Lashgasm Mascara to my lashes.

The bubble gum pink, pinkish purple, and mint green colors look amazing together and create the perfect pastel Easter look.

What color combinations do you like for Easter?

Easter Makeup and Easter Nails

Here's how I created my Easter look:

-I primed my lids with UDPP and applied MAC's Painterly as a base.

-I then used the UD Naked Basics Palette and applied Venus on my brow bone and W.O.S. all over my lid up to my brow bone.

-Next I applied Sugarpill's Sparkle Baby shadows to my lid up to the crease starting with Candycrush on the inner corner and 1st third, followed by Frostine in the center, and Hotsy Totsy in the outer corner. -I blended the three shadows together.

-Next I lined my top lid with L'Oreal's Infallible 24 hr eyeliner in Espresso. -I curled my lashes and applied Too Faced's Lashgasm Mascara.

-I then applied Andrea's False Lashes in #21

-I lined my bottom lid with NYX's Jumbo Eye Pencil in Horse Raddish and set it with Candycrush.

-Then I applied NYX's Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk to my waterline and set it with Sugarpill's Tako from the Sweet Heart Palette.

-I applied Too Faced's Beauty Balm in Snow Glow to my face set with MAC's Studio Fix Powder.

-I applied a Hard Candy baked pink blush to my cheeks.

-I finished my look by adding a pink gloss to my lips from my ebay lip gloss palette.

Did you create an Easter Look?

Happy Easter!

The Contour Kit is $40.

Lorac SummerGlo Palette - Day 2, Green Blue

Here is another look that I created using the SummerGlo Palette from Lorac.

First I applied the matte cream shade at the bottom of the palette to my brow bone.

Next I applied the skin toned matte at the bottome of the palette all over my lid up to my brow bone and blended.

Then I took the green shimmer and applied it to my crease.

I picked up the blue shimmer and applied that to the outer v and lined under my eye over a brown eyeliner.

Finally I applied the beige shimmer (5th shade in the palette) to my lid and inner corner.

I lined my lid with a brown gel liner, curled my lashes and applied mascara.

This look is very soft and also perfect for Summer. After using this palette for two days I have noticed that the shadows in this palette can be blended out to create a softer look. This is perfect for the Summer when you want to do a soft look while heading to the beach.

Out of the two looks which do you prefer, the coral purple or the green blue?

Lorac SummerGlo Palette - Day 1, Coral Purple Recreation Look

The first look I created using the Lorac SummerGlo Palette was a recreation look that was posted by Lorac.

Below are the steps to create the look:

Here is the look:

I like how this look came out. It is perfect for Summer. Have you created any looks yet with the Lorac SummerGlo Palette?

Lorac SummerGlo Palette - Swatches

Here are swatches of the Lorac SummerGlo Palette.

Swatches are shown left to right as they are in the palette. The base shadows are swatched below the other shadows as they are shown in the palette.

As I stated in my 1st look post, the eyeshadows are soft and pigmented. The shadows were swatched over e.l.f. Eyelid Primer.

Have you picked up this palette yet?

Lorac SummerGlo Palette - 1st Look

Lorac recently released two palettes for the Summer.

One of them is called SummerGlo and is available at Kohl's and Lorac. The other is called AfterGlo and it is exclusive to Ulta. They are $24 each.

They each come with 10 eyeshadows. The colors in both palettes appear to be very similar ranging from bronze, gold, coral, purple, and turquoise. The SummerGlo Palette comes in bronze packaging whereas the AfterGlo palette comes in turquoise packaging.

My first impression of the palette is that the shadows are soft and pigmented true to the typical Lorac shadows.

I am excited to use this palette to create some Summer looks.

Have you picked up either palette? Thoughts?

Kat Von D Monarch Palette - 1st Look

When I first heard of the Kat Von D Monarch Palette I knew I had to have it.

I was first drawn to the palette based on its name alone, Monarch. I love butterflies and Monarchs in particular. Then I saw that the palette contained neutral shades and I couldn't order it fast enough.

I just received the palette today from Sephora and will be using it tomorrow to create a look.

My first impressions of the palette are all positive. There are matte and shimmer shades in the palette. They all appear to be buttery smooth and I would guess that they are pigmented.

Check back in the next couple of days to see the look that I create with this palette.

Elizabeth Mott - Pop! Goes the Shadow Swatch

Here is a swatch of the Pop! Goes the Shadow in Champagne from Elizabeth Mott that I received in my April Ipsy Glam Bag.

The shadow is very smooth and pigmented. It claims to be crease proof but we shall see once it is put to the test.

The quality looks comparable to an Urban Decay eyeshadow. It looks similar to an Urban Decay shadow you would find in a Naked Palette.

Did you get this shade or a different shade in your Ipsy Glam Bag? Thoughts?
