Too Faced Joy to the Girls Palette - 1st Look and Swatches

Joy to the Girls indeed.

On Friday I received my much anticipated Joy to the Girls Palette from Too Faced. Originally I had tried to order the palette when it was first released a couple of weeks ago, but sadly it sold out almost immediately. I thought my computer was playing a cruel joke on me. I refreshed Too Faced's website thinking that the sold out displayed on the page must have been from when it was originally listed on the page and the palette would miraculously appear as available. Well let me just say I was a little sad when this wasn't the case.

Now looking back the wait for the palette was definitely worth it. The Joy to the Girls Palette is part of Too Faced's Holiday Collection for 2013 so it is limited edition. The palette is stunning. First off the packaging is so adorable with its mint green and gold polka dot pattern. It screams holiday to me. The Joy to the Girls Palette comes with its traditional How to Glamour Guide which illustrates in detail how to recreate three incredible looks using the palette.

Next it contains 15 eyeshadows with adorable festive names. The shadows are buttery smooth, highly pigmented, and beautiful as always. This palette contains a lot of neutral shades which are great for everyday looks. After using this palette once I can already say that I really like it. My favorite shades from the palette are Sugar Plum, Cheers, Twinkle, Joy, and Yule Log. You also receive a full sized LashGasm mascara with the palette.

Below are pictures of my Too Faced order that I received including two good sized samples. With my Joy to the Girls Palette I received a Tinted Beauty Balm and a Glamour Gloss. I tried them both out yesterday and so far am really liking them also. I am quickly finding that Too Faced is becoming one of my favorite high end makeup brands next to Urban Decay.

All of the shadows are highly pigmented with the exception of Powdered Sugar. I created a look yesterday using this palette which I will post shortly. After seeing pictures of the palette and swatches, what do you think of the palette? Will you be purchasing it this holiday season?
