New e.l.f. Studio Baked Highlighters, Prism Palette, and Baked Eyeshadows

About once a week I browse the website for e.l.f. cosmetics. I do this because one I am a beauty addict who is addicted to beauty products and two I love e.l.f. products.

Today I checked their website and found that they have added a couple of appealing new items.

e.l.f. currently has baked eyeshadows, blushes, and bronzer so have now expanded into baked highlighters. That's right. Baked Highlighters. They are shimmers and available in three shades, which are Moonlight Pearls, Pink Diamonds, and Blush Gems. They are all part of the studio line and retail for $3 each.

Moonlight Pearls

Pink Diamonds

Blush Gems

Another new product in the Studio line is the Prism Eyeshadow Palette. This palette currently only comes in one choice which is Smoke. There are 6 eyeshadows that look like powder eyeshadows but apply like cream shadows. These sort of remind me of the e.l.f. Long Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadows except those look like and feel like cream shadows and dry to a powder finish. This palette retails for $10.

Four new shades were added to the e.l.f. Studio Baked Eyeshadows. These are in Moonlight Serenade, Bronzed Beauty, Purple Passion, and Chocolate Dreams. These retail for $3 each.

Moonlight Serenade

Bronzed Beauty

Purple Passion

Chocolate Dreams

All of these items are definitely enticing to me. What do you think?

Ipsy

Thank the heavens, the stars, the makeup gods, and Michelle Phan for Ipsy.

What is Ipsy you ask?

Ipsy is an online beauty site or community in which users can subscribe to a beauty product subscription. Basically for $10 plus shipping you will receive a beauty bag which includes samples and full sized beauty products. You literally receive a different makeup bag every month that can be used to store all of your beauty products.

Maybe now you are thinking what is special about ipsy?

Well let's imagine a typical scenario that we all have experienced at one time or another. You are looking for the perfect product, let's say that you are looking for a great lip pencil. You want one that is long lasting and pigmented, but in a perfect world you would love to be able to sample it before you hand over $20 hard earned dollars on a higher end makeup product. Will have no fear my fellow beauty lovlies. Ipsy can eliminate some of your fears. How you ask? Well you are going to receive a handful of different beauty products every month for the low price of $10 + taxes with free shipping. You will be able to sample different products from a range of different brands, which include but are not limited to benefit, Urban Decay, Pop Beauty, Lime Crime, etc... In addition you will also receive samples for hair and face products.Your dreams can be a reality. No more wasting money on a product you have never tried, don't like, and will never use again.

I don't know about you but once I logged on to ipsy and browsed the site I was sold. Oh I almost forgot to mention you take a beauty quiz before signing up. This way you are matched up with the perfect beauty products for you based on skin type, hair and eye color, preference, etc.. You will receive products you want to try and are interested in and not products that would never appeal to you in the first place. See you receive something that isn't you after all, no problem you can always retake the beauty quiz to adjust your preferences for the future.

Who is Michelle Phan you ask?

Michelle Phan is a beauty Guru on Youtube and the creator of Ipsy. Michelle created ipsy in order to bring a variety of beauty products to the doors of beauty lovers. I can't speak for everyone, but with over 4 million subscribers that is definitely a girl who knows her stuff when it comes to beauty. If you are curious about Michelle you can check out her Youtube channel at www.youtube.com/user/MichellePhan

If at this point you still aren't sold on ipsy, there's more. I mentioned earlier that it is also an online beauty community. This means you are able to connect with other ipsy users and browse other's looks for admiration and inspiration. Plus you can upload your pictures and videos of looks that you have created. It is a great way to connect to other fellow beauty lovers and expand your beauty world.

I signed up for ipsy on July 11th 2013 and was on the wait list until today, which was about 3 weeks. I will receive my first beauty bag in August and I can't wait. I have heard great things about ipsy and have met some really talented people on there.

Go on check it out. What do you have to lose besides $10 a month? You can thank me later :)

Coastal Scents 88 Mirage Palette & Shades of Pink

When I hear the word mirage my head instantly fills with images of sand, desert, sunshine, and glistening pools of water. So when I opened the Coastal Scents 88 Mirage Palette I wasn't disappointed. The eyeshadows in this palette represent all earthy type colors. You have your bronzes, beiges, browns, oranges, greens, and blues. This palette also doubles as a great neutral palette for the most part.

The Coastal Scents 88 Mirage Palette only contains a handful of pink eyeshadows. They happen to be the ones that I was drawn to at first site.

Today's Face of the Day was created using the following:

Coastal Scents 88 Mirage Palette

Brow Bone - Light Cream Matte (7th row, 1st color)

Inner Corner - Champagne Shimmer (8th row, 4th color)

Crease - Light Pinkish Mauve Matte (8th row, 3rd color)

Outer Crease - Dark Salmon Pink Matte (7th row, 3rd color)

Lid - Pinkish Brown Shimmer (7th row, 4th color)

Eyeliner on top of lid - e.l.f. Liquid Eyeliner in Black

Eyeliner under the eye - NYX Slide on eyeliner in Jewel set with pinkish brown shimmer lid color used above

Blush - e.l.f Studio Blush in Peachy Keen

Mascara - Covergirl Lash Blast Volume

Today's Face of the day turned out to be a pretty pink neutral look that can be worn for everyday makeup. What do you think of pink neutrals?

Sugarpill's Dollipop

Today was my first day of using Sugarpill Cosmetics. I was so excited when I received my Sugarpill order yesterday. I couldn't wait to start using the eyeshadows.

One of the shadows in particular being Dollipop. It is a gorgeous dark bright pink matte. It is the focus of today's look. Today's Face of the Day was created using the following:

Sugarpill Cosmetics Sweet Heart Palette

Brow Bone - Tako (White Matte)

1st third of the Lid & outer part of the Lid - Dollipop (Bright Dark Pink Matte)

Wet n Wild's Vanity Palette

Crease - Light Beige Matte (2nd row, 1st color)

Outer Crease - Dark Brown Matte (3rd row, 1st color)

Center of the Lid, Inner Corner, and under the Eye - Milani Powder Eyeshadow in Tickled Pink (Pink with Gold Shimmer)

Eyeliner on top of Lid - L'Oreal Infallible 24 Hr Cream Eyeliner

Eyeliner under the Eye - NYX Jewel Liner

Blush - e.l.f. Baked Blush in Pinktastic

Eyeshadow Base - Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Branded

Eyeshadow Primer - UD Primer Potion

After 10 hours I can say that my eyeshadow is still vibrant and going strong and only shows slight creasing. This is typical for my eyeshadow creasing when paired with UD Primer Potion and Maybelline Color Tattoos.

So far I am pleased and very impressed with Sugarpill eyeshadows. The colors are bright but can be applied with a lighter hand for a softer look or layered for bold color.

This look reminds me of Neapolitan ice cream. What do you think?

Sugarpill Cosmetics Haul

Being a lover all of things makeup I have wanted to try Sugarpill Cosmetics for some time. But as fate would have it the availability of the palettes and my availability of funds just hadn't crossed paths. It would seem that whenever I had the money to purchase them that they were sold out and vice versa.

Then comes the Sugarpill 12 Pan Pro Palette. It contains all three palettes that Sugarpill makes in one handy dandy palette. It was originally sold earlier this year at IMATS. I attended IMATS but by the time I got to the Sugarpill booth it had a huge winding line that wrapped this way and that. So I figured this is fate giving me a sign plus at this point I had already spent so much at IMATS I figured I would purchase the palette at a later time.

Now comes PHAMExpo and I am elated thinking that maybe I can attend. Well since I looked at the list of exhibitors and they were pretty much the same as IMATS I figured better hold on to my money for a rainy day.

At this point I believe that all of the palettes are still currently sold out online. Then since I had signed up on Sugarpill's website to be informed of any sales or promotions I receive an email I believe on last Tuesday the 23rd stating that Sugarpill would be having a 13 hr. sale on Wednesday the 24th at 11AM Pacific time. This sale would contain any surplus limited edition products from PHAMExpo. This being of course the 12 Pan Pro Palette. Well I immediately knew the time had come for me to obtain Sugarpill products. What better way to try all of the gorgeous, highly pigmented shadows, then to have them all at your fingertips in one convenient place.

The next day I log onto Sugarpill's site at 10:55 AM Pacific time, because the early bird catches the worm. Anyway I keep refreshing the site until 11:00 AM. At 11AM the Pro Palette is still showing as not available. After one more refresh it miraculously becomes available. I quickly add it to my cart and click on check out with Paypal (I had practiced this check out process on a random item before to make sure I knew what I was doing). Once I confirm my shipping address and card on file I hit next and am told the palette has been removed from my cart due to being sold out.

I felt dumfounded and couldn't understand what just happened. So I went back to the site and repeated the process thinking that I must have done something incorrectly, but alas I received the same result. Instantly I was disappointed, but only for a moment. I pulled myself together and did what any level headed beauty addict would do. I found an alternate way to get to my original desired outcome.

I remembered that each of the palettes, Burning Heart, Heart Breaker, and Sweet Heart (which make up the Pro Palette, each palette has 4 eyeshadows) the PHAMExpo editions were each being sold. I added all three to my cart and checked out. This only ended up costing about a dollar more than the Pro Palette would have been. So I don't have them all in one palette. I can always buy a Z Palette. Sure I could have waited until November this year when the Pro Palette will be sold again, but who wants to wait?

I placed my order Wednesday, July 24th and received it Monday, July 29th. Not bad if I do say so myself. I can only describe my first impressions of the palettes as mind blowing. The colors truly are a work of art so bright and beautiful. I am eager and excited to try each and every one of the shadows. I have seen so many pictures of looks that others have created with these palettes and they never cease to amaze me. Each is a work of art in their own way.

Below are pictures of the items I received in the haul. I almost forgot to mention that I barely swatched Poison Plum and after rubbing it off it is still on my finger and hand, which is a true sign that these are some pigmented shadows. There will be looks soon to come...

I wanted to show how adorable the packaging is. The order came in an adorable Sugarpill box. I may have to save this box :)

Here are pictures of the back of the palettes. Each shows pictures and names of the eyeshadows. Burning Heart, Sweet Heart, and Heart Breaker.

Here this palettes are open to show the colors. Burning Heart, Sweet Heart, and Heart Breaker.

Close-up of the Burning Heart Palette (I think this will be my favorite one!)

Close-up of the Sweet Heart Palette (Can't wait to use Dollipop, which is the gorgeous pink)

Close-up of the Heart Breaker Palette (This is the newest of the palettes)

In addition, with my order I received this adorable glitter Sugarpill sticker (This is definitely going to be put on something). An Elektro Cute sticker to promote the Sparkling Neon Pigments. A Loose Chroma Lust Eyeshadow sample, which is Goldilux. Finally, a cute card which displays all of Sugarpill's social media sites.

Neutral Gray

Today's Face of the Day was created using a palette from Forever 21's Love and Beauty line. It is an eyeshadow palette that contains 21 neutral shadows. I have used this palette before in a previous look. Here's how it was used to create a Neutral Gray look.

Crease & Under the Eye - Dark Gray Shimmer (3rd row, 7th color)

Lid - Light Gray Shimmer (2nd row, 7th color)

Outer Corner - Charcoal Gray Shimmer (1st row, 6th color)

Inner Corner - White Pinkish Shimmer (1st row, 1st color)

Brow Bone - e.l.f. Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow in Bridal Party

Eyeliner on top of the Lid - LA Splash Liquid Eyeliner in Merlot

Eyeliner under the eye - Revlon Bronze Flash

Mascara - Urban Decay Supercurling

Blush - Milani Rose D'Oro

This is the only palette I have from Forever 21 and I must say for $10 I am pretty pleased with it. I did notice slight creasing after 6 hours.

What are your experiences with Forever 21 Palettes?

My Blush, Highlighter, and Bronzer Collection

I have been wanting to do a collection post for awhile. This isn't a complete collection, but it is my blush, highlighter, and bronzer collection. Initially this post was just going to be a blush collection post, but once I started compiling all of my blushes I found that some of them actually work better as either highlighters or bronzers. My blush collection isn't that big when compared to my eyeshadow collection, but I am trying to branch out to other brands when it comes to blushes.

Most of my collection consists of e.l.f. products for two reasons. One I am a huge e.l.f. fan and love most of their products. Two e.l.f. is very affordable and is a great way to try different types of products without having to hash out huge amounts of money on higher end makeup that you may not like. For example, say you want to try a liquid blush and never have. You can buy an e.l.f. one for considerably less and save yourself the frustration when you find out you don't like liquid blushes. Keep in mind that a lot of time higher end makeup brands can be higher quality, but I typically like to think of e.l.f. sometimes as a stepping stone. This isn't negative by any means I feel that for me personally it works this way.

As you can see from these pictures I do love e.l.f. products and Peachy Keen from the e.l.f. Studio line is one of my daily blushes next to Milani's Baked Blush in Rose D'Oro. E.l.f. Studio Blushes are great quality and a highly affordable at $3. You will also notice that I have only a handful of highlighters as highlighting a new concept to me. Bronzing is a completing new concept to me and not one I honestly perform from day to day. I am currently working on my technique so you will not see many bronzers.

Finally, this blog post was put together as a way for my to share my collection with you and give you some ideas of products you may want to try. This is in no way bragging. I love makeup and this is what I choose to collect and spend my money on. Enjoy!

This picture is an overview and doesn't contain all of the products I own. I found a few more products after I took this picture. They are in individual pictures below.

The top portion of this picture is the blush layer from Shany Cosmetics The Masterpiece 7 Layer Makeup Palette. The bottom portion is from Coastal Scents Double Stack 42 Shimmer Palette.

These are the e.l.f. Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powders. St. Lucia, St. Lucia Cream, Turks & Caicos, and Antigua.

e.l.f. Studio Blushes. My fav! 1st row - Candid Coral, Peachy Keen, Mello Mauve. 2nd row - Gotta Glow (Highlighter), Giddy Gold, Fushia Fusion, and off to the right is Pink Passion.

e.l.f. Baked Blushes. I love these too. They are very pretty. Pinktastic and Pink Passion.

Hard Candy Baked Blush. This was part of a Christmas gift set from last year and unfortunately didn't have a name. It is a pink and is very pretty.

Milani Rose D'Oro. This is one of my other daily blushes. I really like it and can't wait to try others.

e.l.f. Cream Blush in Flirt. Cream blush is new to me so this is the only one I have. I have used it a couple of times, but you have to be careful when using it. Start with a light hand and build up your color as it is very pigmented.

Wet n Wild Fergie Centerstage - Rose Champagne Glow. This is more of a highlighter but can be used as a blush also. Similar to the e.l.f. Pinktastic Blush.

Lorac Indulge in Berry Kisses Cheek and Lip Tint Palette. This is from the Eye Candy Set. I have yet to use this one, but looks like it is similar to cream blush.

e.l.f. Body Shimmer. These are a multipurpose product. They can be used on the cheeks, eyes, face, etc... Cosmic Coral, Golden Glow, Blazing Bronze (Bronzer), and Moonlight (Highlighter).

e.l.f. All Over Cover Stick. These are similar to the Body Shimmers in that they are multipurpose. They can be used on the face, eyes, cheeks, and lips. Spotlight (Highlighter), Golden Peach, Pink Lemonade, and Lilac Petal.

e.l.f. Shimmering Face Whips. These are also multipurpose, but are in a liquid form. Golden Peach and Spotlight (Highlighter).

e.l.f. HD Blush in Diva. This can also be used on the lips. Insanely pigmented so start light when using it.

Too Faced Sweet Indulgence Palette, bottom layer. Blush - La Vie en Rose and Papa Don't Preach. Bronzers - Exclusive Bronzer and Sun Bunny Light. Highlighter - Candlelight Glow. These are on the higher end makeup side like Lorac. They are highly pigmented and pretty.

BH Cosmetics Malibu Palette. The top row has two blushes. Bottom row has a highlighter and a bronzer. I am also a huge supporter of BH Cosmetics. Their products are highly pigmented and very affordable.

BH Cosmetics Hollywood Palette. Same as above in that top row has two blushes and second row has a highlighter and a bronzer.

These are Nicka K Face and Body Shimmers. The first is a highlighter, 2nd is a bronzer, and the third more of a blush in pink. I have used the 2nd one as a blush many times. These have long lasting power and are very shimmery. I found these in a little store that mainly sells jewelry so I am not sure where they can be purchased.

Hard Candy Bronzer that was part of the same gift set as the Hard Candy Blush. It doesn't have a name and is a shimmery bronzer. I think it is the only stand alone bronzer I own. I know I really need a matte one.

These are 6 blushes from the Ulta, Day, Night, and Play Set. These are very natural looking and pretty.

Lastly, NYX Mosaic Powder in Highlighter. This is obviously a highlighter.

There you have it. My current collection of blush, highlighter, and bronzer. What types of items do you have in your collection?
