Los Angeles Temptation Inspired Look

I am going to a Los Angeles Temptation's Lingerie Football game and wanted to do an inspired look. Their colors are black, silver, and white. Below is a picture of some of the products I used to create this look. I will have to edit this post tomorrow for a full list of products used. This look went through 3 phases until it was finalized. The last look is the one I chose. It is the one that includes glitter.

Phase 1

Phase 2 - With Lashes

Phase 3 - Without Lashes, but with Glitter

Coastal Scents Double Stack Shimmer Palette & Swatches

Coastal Scents Double Stack Shimmer Palette is one of those palettes I bought when I was intrigued online after seeing it, but have never used it. I love shimmer and when I saw some swatches online of this palette I knew it was for me. This palette also comes in a matte version. There are 32 shimmer eyeshadows and 10 shimmer and matte blushes.

Below are the swatches of eyeshadows and blushes per row. They were swatched on bare skin without a primer. Each swatch was layered twice.

My favorite eyeshadow from this palette is easily the coral shade in the 2nd row. It is the 2nd color. It is just an amazing unique shade. I also really love all of the bronze colors on the right hand side of the palette in the last two columns. Some of the eyeshadows appear to be duplicated colors. Some are not as vibrant as others. For some reason the blues and the purples on the right side of the palette didn't seem to me that vibrant and were a little streaky when swatching. A couple of the shades have a little bit of glitter. In terms of the blushes I didn't find that they were as great as the shadows. Some of them appeared to also be light or streaky when swatched. The bronze shade seems to be the most vibrant.

Overall this is a decent palette. Some of the eyeshadows are very pretty and shimmery.

I will be using this palette for a Los Angeles Temptation inspired look. They are a Lingerie Football Team for those of you no familiar with them.

Bath and Body Works Semi-Annual Sale Haul

I finally made to Bath and Body Works before their semi-annual sale ended. Whew! That was a close one. I wanted to do a quick haul post to just let you know what I got and more importantly to remind everyone if you haven't gone yet to make a trip down there this weekend because the sale is almost over.

There are still some great products left. Of course the selection may vary depending of course on which store you visit. Also one thing I noticed is that you might think something is sold out if you don't see it in your local store, but this may not be the case. Make sure you check online at bathandbodyworks.com. For example they still have the Honey Sweetheart Collection and the products are marked down to $5-$6.

On to the little but great deal haul.... When I walked into the store I was kindly handed a 20% off coupon. Quickly in my head I did the math and said ok whatever items i decide to buy I have to divide my total by 5 and that will be the amount I will be discounted. With that out of the way I set out on a quick walkthrough of the sale displays.

First I picked up an Apple Blossoms hand soap from the Fresh Picked Line. Let me just say that I love The Fresh Picked Line as you can probably tell from my picture of the haul. I opened the top of the soap and the scent was just heavenly and at $2.75, a keeper. I then crossed the other side of the store and saw a Honey Sweetheart Body Spray from the Valentine's Day collection. I had smelled the scent on a previous visit and knew I was gonna buy that baby. Making my way to the middle of the store I circled around and saw the Fresh Picked display. Let me just say I think I was running at this time. I picked up the Fresh Picked Pears Body Lotion and Body Wash. I also picked up the Fresh Picked Strawberries and Tangerines Hand and Body Creams.

This was all I could carry seeing as I hadn't picked up a bag upon my entrance into the store. By this time I figured you know what I have tons of products from BBW at home so this is good for now. Nobody wants to go overboard crazy. When I am checking out I hand over my 20% off coupon and receive my total, a shocking $18.79! I was shocked but extremely satisfied. I got some great stuff at an even better price.

I received a coupon card for an upcoming launch. The next line to be launched will be on July 8th in stores (available online now). It is called the Summer Chill Collection. It contains the three scents of Citrus Orchid Chill, Coconut Water Chill, and White Mango Chill. They are described by BBW as three fragrances to put your summer on ice. They definitely look cool and sound cool and I think I will be picking up White Mango for sure. The coupon entitles you to a free signature collection mini fine fragrance mist with any purchase of $10 or more. Yes, please!

I almost forgot to mention in the picture you will notice the Honey Sweetheart body spray is missing the spray cap. That was my only disappointment. I have tried to fit other spray caps I own onto this one but to no avail. I may have to return it tomorrow. This will definitely be a lesson learned. In times of sales products can become damaged due to them moving around and being handled by multiple consumers. Just make sure to check your purchases when buying to avoid more work down the road such as returns.

What great products did you haul at the BBW semi-annual sale?

Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat Nail Polish

Recently I was in my local Walgreens and stumbled across the Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat Nail Polishes. I read the bottle and thought hmm Fuzzy Coat this sounds interesting. I have seen nail polish that crackles, that has sequins, that has cute confetti cutouts, but not with fuzzy coats. They were on sale for buy one get one half off so I picked up two.

I bought 600 Fuzzy Fantasy and 200 All Yarned Up. Both nail polishes are clear but contain different colored uh, um, I am not quite sure what they are. For the sake of the name let's call them fuzzies. So Fuzzy Fantasy contains fuzzies that are white, yellow, and green. All Yarned Up contains fuzzies that are orange, yellow, and blue.

These can be worn alone preferably in multiple coats to layer the fuzzies or they can be worn as a top coat on top of a colored nail polish. I can really see these nail polishes popping when layered over a like colored polish. For example you could use All Yarned Up as a top coat over a blue, orange, or yellow nail polish. These would even look great over a black, or white. If you are feeling even more creative maybe over a gold or silver!

There are 8 nail polishes in this collection. Here are the other 6 I didn't purchase:

100 - Wool Lite - Pink
300 - Peach Fuzz - Yellow and Orange
400 - Tight Knit - Dark Blue and White
500 - Fuzz Sea - Green and Blue
700 - Wool Knot - White and Blue
800 - Tweedy - Black and White

These nail polishes are fast drying, have a 3D look, and of course contain fuzzies. They can be found at Walgreens, CVS, and other fine retailers.

Final thoughts on Fuzzy Coat, must have or must not?

5 Days of Metal - Day 5

All good things must come to an end. In the case of my 5 Days of Metal Series there is no difference.

I mentioned in a previous blog post that I really enjoy doing a series where I am spotlighting a particular palette. This is a great way to show a palette's versatility.

After using the Coastal Scents 88 Metal Mania Palette for 5 days straight I can honestly say that I like this palette. The eyeshadows are all metallic in nature, a true testament to the palette's name. They are vibrant and long lasting with good pigmentation. I only ran across one light pink color in the palette that was on the sheer side. That shade would probably fair better as a highlight color. The palette offers a range of different colored shadows.

This palette would be great for anyone who loves metallic shimmer eyeshadows. This palette is available for purchase on Coastal Scents website. The price can vary depending on whether or not there is a sale.

Today's Face of the Day was created as a neutral metallic look.

Brow Bone & Inner Corner - White Shimmer (1st row, 1st color)

Lid - Champagne Shimmer ( 2nd row, 2nd color)

Crease - Bronze Shimmer (2nd row, 3rd color)

This palette is definitely a must have for the glitzy glamour side in all of us.

5 Days of Metal - Day 4

Today's Face of the Day for the 5 Days of Metal Series was created using pink. It would have been pinks but the first pink I started applying was literally a light light pink and it didn't show up very well.

Today's look is very basic and easy to replicate. I used a primer, a base, two eyeshadows, and two eyeliners.

Primer - Urban Decay Primer Potion

Base - Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Branded

Brow Bone & Inner Corner - White Shimmer (1st row, 1st color)

Lid - Pink Gold Shimmer (7th row, 1st color)

Eyeliner on top of Lid - L'Oreal 24 hr. eyeliner in brown

Eyeliner Under the Eye - Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Zero and pink gold shimmer from lid above to set the liner.

I included a picture of the pink crystal bow necklace that I wore to compliment the look.

Check out tomorrow's blog for the final look in the 5 Days of Metal Series I will be creating a neutral look.
