I awoke to a bright new day and a brand new Going in the Wild Palette. I was inspired by the mint shimmer color in the palette since I swatched it last night. Mint has easily become one of my favorite colors and is currently the "in color." With this being said I had a couple ideas for the look that I would create today.
I know everyone has heard that old saying about not counting your eggs before they are hatched. Well I have to say that I was a little disappointed when I starting applying the brow bone colors and the mint shimmer. The colors just wouldn't show up. I applied them over my usual Urban Decay Primer Potion and Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Branded. This combo always does the trick.
I told myself it was ok and not to panic. I had a backup plan :) I went to my trusty 88 Rainbow Shimmer Palette that I introduced in a previous post. This palette happens to have a lot of yellows and greens including a mint. I decided to apply these over the Going in the Wild colors.
This is the part where I should of had a happy ending, but alas this didn't help too much. I guess these two palettes will never be friends :( Don't get me wrong you can see the colors, but they just aren't as vibrant nor do they pop as I like my shadows to do.
Based off of my experience I definitely recommend the Nude Awakening Palette over the Going in the Wild Palette. On the other hand if you are a collector (addict, hoarder, you name it :) like myself then you should get both of them.
Today's Face of the Day was created as follows:
I will use (L) and (R) to distinguish which side of the palette the colors I used are on.
Brow bone - Shimmer champagne (L)
Inner Corner - Yellow Shimmer Brow Bone (R)
Eyelid - Mint green shimmer (R)
Crease - Light Brown? Eyelid (L)
Outer Corner - Brown Crease color (R)
And to confuse you even more ...
88 Rainbow Shimmer Palette
Inner Corner - Yellow 1st row, 4th column
Eyelid - Mint green 2nd row, 5th column
After this lengthy explanation I feel that Wet n Wild should institute names for eyeshadows :) Don't you agree?
